Once upon a time, there lived a young girl, Alarrah, in the forbidden castle of Azerbaijan. The only way her father would let her out of the castle was if a man asked for her hand in marriage whom he approved of. Unfortunately, for her, there were many guys, but she loathed all of them. She always managed to find some bad quality about every single on of them, until Demetrius came along. Now readers, be warned. Demetrius was a man of color, so the very thought of him asking for a princess's hand in marriage was frowned upon. As soon as he laid his fingers on the wooden door, his father just as quickly threw him out of the barred gates. This did not stop Alarrah from seeing Demetrius; it was love at first sight. She pounded on her window and caught his attention. He knew he had to marry her, for he had never seen a more beautiful girl.
Demetrius arranged a whole getaway trip; he would come at midnight to Alarrah's house, and she would sneak downstairs to open the door. Soon after, they would set off into the sea and never look back again. As long as they had each other, nothing else would matter. The day had come for their escape, but Demetrius's friend, Willie, caught his attention. Willie told Demetrius that he saw Alarrah talking to one of her suitor's, and he saw this particular suitor kiss Alarrah on the cheek. Given Demetrius's short temper, he stormed to the castle and demanded to see Alarrah.
Alarrah's dad refused to let him come in the house, declaring that it would taint the purity of their castle, but Demetrius would not have it any other way. He stormed into the house and ran straight up to her room. Although she refuted everything he was accusing her of, he was too stubborn to see that Willie was the one who kissed Alarrah on the cheek. That day, she had pushed him aside, but he still managed to peck a kiss. Demetrius refused to listen to anything coming out of his lover's mouth, so he called off the runaway plan. A couple months after, Willie poisoned the water he brought for Demetrius, and Demetrius died instantly. His last words were, "I should have believed you, Alarrah." As far as Alarrah's fate, her dad forced her to marry the prince of Italy. It was a twisted, tragic, fate that both of these lovers endured.
